The Colonials played in their first ever Division 1 games for the 19th Annual ECRHA Columbus Day event in Philadelphia, PA. Although coming into the season with a handful of new players, Robert Morris did not disappoint.

Their first match-up was against the University of Rhode Island. After the first period, Rhode Island lead 1-0, but the Colonials were just warming up. Dan Trunk got RMU on the scoresheet early in the second period with a goal assisted by Tyler Dillon. Although the Colonials were again behind in the third period (3-1), they did not give up. Dave Stragar started off the comeback with his goal at 6:29. Rhode Island quickly responded, but they would not get on the scoresheet again. The Colonials scored two late game goals including one by freshman Sean Lawrence who scored to tie the game with 16 seconds left. He took that momentum into overtime with a Power Play goal assisted by Kevin Malley. Newcomer goaltender, Jacob Cowie made many clutch saves in the third period to keep his team in the game. Dan Trunk was named the #1 star of the game and Sean Lawrence was the #3 star.

The Colonials then lost hard fought games against Rowan and West Chester. On Sunday, their fresh legs led them to a quick start against Hofstra University. After the first period, RMU led 3-1 and ended up winning the game 7-5. Goals were scored by Dan Trunk (2), Kevin Malley (2), Jesse Zahn and Sean Lawrence (2).
